Help Equip the Iowa Hill PBA — Support Our Equipment Trailer Fund
The Iowa Hill Prescribed Burn Association (Iowa Hill PBA) is raising funds to build a dedicated Prescribed Fire Equipment Trailer that will give local landowners, volunteers, and fire practitioners access to the equipment needed to safely conduct community prescribed burns.
Prescribed fire is an important tool for reducing hazardous fuels, improving forest health, restoring fire-adapted landscapes, and increasing wildfire resilience. In a community like Iowa Hill, building local prescribed fire capacity means giving residents the knowledge, experience, and equipment they need to take an active role in caring for their land.
Building a Community Prescribed Fire Equipment Cache
Our goal is to create a fully equipped mobile prescribed fire trailer that can be deployed to community burn projects throughout the Iowa Hill area.
Funds raised will help purchase the trailer and essential equipment such as wildland fire PPE, hand tools, drip torches and ignition equipment, portable pumps, hoses and fittings, backpack pumps, radios, weather-monitoring equipment, medical supplies, and other prescribed fire gear.
Having this equipment available locally means we can be better prepared when weather, fuel moisture, permits, and other conditions come together to create a safe opportunity to burn.
Instead of requiring every participating landowner to purchase specialized wildland fire equipment individually, the Iowa Hill PBA can maintain shared equipment that supports multiple landowners, community burns, training opportunities, and future prescribed fire projects.
